WHAT I LEARNED TODAY FROM GYPSY BOHO

I still have a lot to learn about RVing and today had a good lesson. I was preparing supper when the appliances all shut down. I checked my breakers and they were fine. I hit the GFI switch to reset but nothing happened. So I walked over to the ranger station but before I got there a couple asked if they could help. The man came over to my coach and was checking fuses when the ranger came by. All fuses were OK. He asked if I checked the post breaker. I said no because other things in the coach were still running. He went around the back and sure enough one of the post breakers had flipped off. I went outside to look and he showed me that there were two breakers. I thanked both of the gentlemen and swore I'd never over load again. It appears that I had the AC, microwave, electric stove, and TV all on at the same time when the incident occurred. I knew not to do this but just wasn't thinking. It was a great day here at the beach. Took the dogs swimming this morning and they had a blast. Took a lot of photos that I will try to post here and on Facebook. Chooky woke me at 6:00 this morning so I didn't have much sleep last night. I'm feeling it about now.

BAY ST. LOUIS, MS

Found this really nice RV Park next to the beach. No levee to block the view of the Gulf. I can actually see the beach and waves from my bedroom window. Just love it! Left home about noon and got here about 3:00. Traffic was horrible going through New Orleans. I hate it! Wish there was another way to get to I10 East and out of Louisiana. Thank goodness for my GPS. How did I live all those years without one????? So, I'm here at the Silver Slipper Casino RV Park and am pleased with the hookups. There is electric, water, and each site has a sewer. My pad is paved and I have a picnic table, BBQ pit, and my own garbage dumpster. The cost is $35 a night for spaces near the water and $25 for the second row behind me. I wanted to be as close as possible to the beach so I paid $35. It was my first back in and I did a pretty good job. Took the dogs for a walk on the beach around 5:00. The sand is so soft kinda like powder and is almost white. Very different than the sand at Grand Isle State Park which is dark. There was no one on the beach for several blocks on either side of me. It was great. The dogs loved it. Chooky ran into the water and got so excited she just kept running in circles around me then into the water again and again. Tonight I cooked white beans with ham and rice. I was starved. Tomorrow I will go to the Casino and have a meal. If I call the shuttle they will come and pick me up. How cool is that? One thing I miss is a fire ring. Love to sit by a fire when camping. There was only one thing I didn't like. The shoulder of the highway is used by day campers to park and use the beach. When there are several cars parked in front of my camper it completely blocks my view of everything. I spoke to the ranger about this and he said that there was nothing they could do about that. Seems that if they posted no parking signs on their fence to prohibit this, as it does hurt their business a bit, it might be worth a shot. Oh well... we can't have everything can we? Tired... need sleep.
