It is a delusion to think that being able to move rapidly about from place to place makes people happier or wiser. As for the advantages of travel, they may be greatly exaggerated. In order to know anything about a country you must walk through it. You must sleep on its soil, pluck its foliage with your fingers. You must light your fires by its fiords and streams, and watch the dawn break beyond strange mountains.
Winston Churchill
November 1939
America travels by interstate highways and America lives on the two lane roads. If you want to discover America follow the two lane roads.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to not have to rush, anywhere, EVER!

Joe... I agree with you about the 2 lane roads.
ReplyDeleteCyndi... I'm with you on that. When I retired I threw the alarm clock away and swore I would never do mornings again. No need to rush anywhere.
I'm more interested in the two lane roads than the freeway. I'm not in a hurry, except to get on the road.
