Finally got to park next to water.
She didn't like walking on all those shells.
My very small site.
Street to the beach.
My little doggie was having trouble walking and finally just stopped in her tracks. I thought that maybe a shell had cut her foot so I took a look. She had those prickly spurs all over her feet and legs from walking in the grass. I could have cried when I saw that. How it must have hurt her to walk because she kept trying but would take a step then stop. When I started to pull them out of her fur they cut my fingers as well. So I was bleeding but I kept pulling. Finally she was able to walk the rest of the way back to the coach. No more walking on grass for her.
We're only staying here one night then on to Port Aransas. I really don't like this driving then stopping then driving then stopping. If I were a full-timer I think I would have a rule... no stopping for less than a week at a time.
I'm feeling much better since I had those 2 days of rest. However, today I stopped and got cold medicine.
I agree, I don't like to stop for only one night. Sometimes I do when trying to get someplace, but I will try to avoid doing that now.
ReplyDeleteOoo, those burrs are awful, they were in No Carolina and at Navarre also. Luci would just stop and hold up her little paw, made me feel so bad i was not more diligent. But they are really hard to see from our height :) They warned us about them in NC, as i had never heard of them b4. Don't have them on Oregon Beaches as far as i know.
ReplyDeleteI rather like stopping and going. But then I have a van that is easy to drive. They make paw boots that seem to be what the poor pooch needs in a place with those nasty burrs.
ReplyDeletePoor little guy! I like traveling - don't like stopping... that's why traveling in Homer is great. If I were to stay put... I'd need a big ol something or other to stay in.
ReplyDeleteConflict... always of freedom vs comfort... so far I've chosen freedom. However! I've been in Galveston now going on three nights! lots of remembering and seeing to do... I'll leave tomorrow I think so... the festival of lights will begin tomorrow ... so dunno. BUT I drive all day and explore ... at Starbucks now just trying to catch up with stuff on wifi....
iPhone is great but typing on that little bitty keyboard for a touch typist is no fun! Had to hookup to remember my damn password for google to post even on my own blog!
CRS... I tell ya
See you in a couple of days! ;)
