Took the two girls for a ride in the motorhome to New Orleans today. I found
a buyer for my folding bike. Posted on Craig's List and just one hour later had
a buyer. Met him half way and he loved the bike. I got what I paid for it and
tonight I ordered the electric folding bike I've been wanting for some time. Now
I'll be able to pull the little red rolling cart behind carrying the two doggies
and I can ride on the beach at Grand Isle and not get into any trouble for
breaking rules. Can't wait to see it. It should be here in about 5 days.
It weighs only 51 pounds and is fitted with a 250 w motor. It can travel at the 15 mph road speed limit with maximum speed of 13 mph with motor only. It can go faster with peddle assist. It is capable of a 20 mile range on normal terrain. It has a 24 V and 8AH lithium-ion battery. Cost: $799.

Little Cha Bu is not sure of what to do in a motorhome. She is in constant
motion exploring and also wants to be on my lap. I tried to teach her that she
is to sit with her sister in the passenger seat as long as we are moving. I have
no trouble with Xi Shi as she is well trained for travel and has a 2 year head
start on her new sister. But eventually after several tries at getting her up on
the seat she stayed and took a nap. Xi Shi does take up most of the room
available but maybe I can come up with some kind of solution and widen the area
so they can both be comfortable. I'll have to build something that will fit
level with the seat and have a brace to the floor. It will be a challenge for
me.
I was just looking today online about folding bikes, mini cycles and such. I am planning to go fulltime rving in the near future and am still leaning towards a class c in the 20 to 24 ft range. Do not want to pull a car but thinking along the lines of a bike or motorbike. Will look forward to hear how you like this new motor fold up bike.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue... I think you will like a Class C motorhome. I have a 26 foot Coachmen and it provides great comforts.
DeleteI do not want to pull anything so had planned on getting a cargo carrier for the trailer hitch on the back of my RV. That would allow me to carry an electric 3 wheeler - which is what I originally wanted. But I already have the pet carrier so all I really needed was a regular bike to pull it. But my regular folding bike was very hard to peddle so now with an electric folding bike I should have no trouble getting around and pulling my doggies in their cart. The folding bike fits nicely in the basement of the RV.
Good luck to you on your future plans to RV.
The older dog is probably deliberately taking up as much room as she can. You know, because she wants the other dog to know she is still top dog. They are very cute together. I often have a cat on my lap in the van. He usually is no problem but once in a while, I have to push him down. He also likes the step well. My 70# dog likes to get in the aisle between the seats.
ReplyDeleteHi Mary... I think you're right about Xi Shi letting the new dog know that she is top dog. Today I'm going to try and build a platform for the seat.
DeleteGood to hear from you.
Wonderful....finally you are getting the bike you want!
ReplyDeleteHi Chris... Yes, finally. I hope it does the job it says it can do ;-)
DeleteI bet you are enjoying that new to you RV. Give little Edna a hug for me.
