COUNTDOWN CLOCKS

I recently read a blog that mentioned setting a date for departure as a way of organizing a schedule.  So I decided it was time for me to do so.  I have been planning a trip to Texas for about a year now and many obstacles have gotten in the way of seeing that trip become a reality.  I have been waiting for the sale of some property for funding of this trip but that may not happen in time.  So I've decided to pull some money out of savings and take this trip anyway in November.  I also plan to take a trip to Washington D.C. in March.  So now that I have these dates sort of set in stone (of the font type) I feel that there is no turning back.

I plan to stay in Texas about a month.  My trip to D.C. will take me through 6 states - all of which I will want to explore on the way back.  I expect that this might take about a month as well.

I will be meeting up with some solo travelers in Texas but have no one to travel with or meet up with on the D.C. trip.  I have been researching RV campgrounds around D.C. and as I don't have a toad I'll want to stay as near to the Washington Mall as possible.  Any suggestions???

COOLER AT LAST

Woke up this morning to a gorgeous, sunny, 64 degree day.  At last.

I'm sure it won't last long but I will enjoy every minute of this day and spend lots of time outside.

HAPPY LABOR DAY!

Happy Labor Day, everybody!

And since it’s Labor Day, I want to take a moment to think nice thoughts about labor unions.  They’re not just the people who brought you Labor Day weekend. They’re the people who brought you the weekend. Period.

They’re the people who brought you the eight hour work day, and time and a half for overtime if you work more than that. They’re the people who brought you workplace safety laws.  They’re the people who brought you child labor laws. Etc. Etc. Etc.
