NO MORE BIKE RACK

On my trip up to Kentwood, La. I lost another piece of my bike rack.  I had left the trike at home but did not take down the rack.  When I packed up to leave Kentwood, I noticed the left wheel holder was gone.  I lost the right wheel holder on my last trip to Mississippi.

I had tightened all of the knobs before leaving on my trip.  Right then and there I decided to take it down and will not replace the missing parts.  If it can't go under the coach in the large basement then it doesn't go.  I can't be worried about something falling off and hitting the car behind me possibly causing serious injuries and/or death.

The trike I currently have will not fit under the coach so I will either sell it and get a bike that will fit or I will not have a bike.  I don't pull a toad so I'll be limited in how I get around campgrounds, etc.  Camping World does carry a folding trike for about $350.00.  We'll see.

  1. I'm not towing a car either, and don't want anything bouncing around on the back of the coach. So, I will be getting one of the folding bikes.

  2. I think that is a good idea. I really like my trike with the baskets in front and back but I may have to go with a regular bike and preferably one that folds. I have a huge basement in the coach with plenty of room. The problem is that the basement doors may not be large enough to put a folding trike inside. I'll be looking into that situation soon.

  3. Rick (and Paulette) posted that he got their folding bike at Camping World for $150, and they really like it. I'm going to look into that. But I would have to carry it on a rack in back. Or maybe bring it inside if it would fit while traveling. I'll have to see. It would be smaller than a trike.

  4. Received a new Camping World magazine today and there is a new item I had not seen before. It is an electric bike and I really like it. Costs around $700 and weighs 100 pounds which I may not be able to lift into the basement of my coach. So that means that I will need another carrier on the back. Have to think hard about that.

  5. I bought an inexpensive Allen bike rack @ Walmart that plugs into my hitch. I don’t tow a vehicle either but I like having the bike and I just strap it on that attach a few extra bungee cords and go. Easy peasy.
